Dear Members (Friends of FSFA),
Welcome to our old friends and new found friends to the FSFA monthly bulletin. It is a snapshot of our happenings and interesting things about Japan.
Don’t forget you are most welcome to attend our monthly FSFA Executive meetings.
They are held at 6.30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. The location is the Acacia Room in the Frankston Council Offices. Enter off Young Street.
Susono Tribute Garden
Great progress is being made with the construction of the Susono Tribute Garden adjacent to Susono Way in Frankston. A stone edged pathway has been installed and a viewing area is being constructed this week. The garden will also have a row of cherry blossom trees. A commemorative plaque is being made by a local company Australian Engraving and will be installed in this area. The plaque will be an acknowledgement of the contribution by Yazaki/Australian Arrow to the history of Frankston and will also have information on the Frankston Susono sister city relationship. An official opening of the garden is being planned once all work is completed and the landscaping is established.
Travel to Japan
Travelling to Japan and in particular Tokyo can be inexpensive. There are loads of things to do in the city that are free or very cheap. Below are links to a number these sightseeing activities. If you have not already I suggest subscribing to Tokyo Cheapo. You get regular newsletters and a great website with all sorts of good travel stuff to help you plan your next trip to Tokyo.
